Once again we had to be shuttled in from the ship to the port in the morning where we boarded the bus to Dolphinity which is the facility where the dolphins were kept. After a short introduction and explanation of the rules (no sunscreen) we were seperated into two groups of about 15 people and got into the pool to interact with the dolphins.
Each group of people had two dolphins. The first thing that they had us do was spread out and they sent the dolphins to swim throughout our group. While they were doing this we could reach out and gently touch them as they swam by.
The second interaction we had was to have a dolphin come vertically up to us for a "fin-shake" and a "hug". We then swam to the other end of the pool where the trainers had the dolphins swim on their backs and each person in the group would hold onto the fins and allow the dolphin to tow them to the other end of the pool.
The final (and most fun) trick we did with the dolphins was to float on our stomach. Then each of the two dolphins would come behind us and place their nose on our feet and we would be pushed by them into the center of the pool. The dolphins pushed us so had we would actually plane out on the water. They were so STRONG it was amazing.
It was a truly unforgettable experience that neither of us will ever forget. We both ended up with a sunburn (since we couldn't wear sunscreen) but it was entirely worth it.

After returning to the port from the dolphins, we met up with Christie's parents for a tour of the resort areas. The Ixtapa area is filled with luxury resorts which we were able to tour. After having a drink at one of the resorts, we went to a preserve and saw an area with alligators and iguanas.
